Active Travel in Schools, Inter Class Challenge

The Big Idea

Get as many pupils walking, cycling or scooting to school for the month of May.

Each class teacher (or class rep) record how many pupils actively travel to school each morning in their own class.

Classes within the same school are competing against each other.

At the end of each of the four weeks in May one class will win a prize for their own class (this is for the school to decide – extra break time for a week, no homework, provide a small trophy, throw a party?)

Each Week Week 1		3rd – 7th May		Class with highest % in week one.
Week 2		10th – 14th May		Class with highest % over week two.
Week 3	17th – 21st May		Class who has made the biggest % jump from week one to week three.		This week is also the annual WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK which your school may already take part in.
Week 4		24th May – 28th May		Class who has the best % over the full four weeks wins.
