Sports Day
St Mary's Primary School enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day, today. The children were split into the Red, Green and Blue teams and took part in nine activities throughout the day: Sprint Race, Egg and Spoon, Sack Race, Welly Wangle, Long Jump, Three-Legged Race, Tug of War, Bean Bag Balance and Obstacle Race.
Each activity was scored on a points basis with 10 points, 5 points and 2 points being awarded depending on each childs place in the activity. The points were tight before lunch but the Reds managed to win gold after coming first place in the Key Stage 2 Obstacle Race.
Congratulations to the Green Team who won bronze medals, Blue Team who won silver medals and the Red Team who won gold medals.
Thank you to all the parents that took part in the Obstacle Race. You all deserve a gold for your display of athleticism!
Thank you to Mark Convie for organising the ice cream van and ensuring that all children and staff enjoyed a Mr Whippy, in the sunshine!
Thank you also to Mrs Mackle for all the extra time and effort she gave to ensure today was a huge success!
