Primary 1-3 visit Fort Evergreen

The children in P1-3 have been working on the genre of recount writing this term and as a class wrote the following recount of our summer trip to Fort Evergreen.

Our trip began when we left school on a bus and drove on a long journey to Warrenpoint. We arrived at 11am. Fort evergreen looked so exciting, and we couldn't wait to explore it. The owner John met us and gave us some yummy juice and biscuits.

Our first activity was in the soft play area, where we played on the slides and ball pits.

Then we went to visit the little animals, we saw rabbits, chicks, chipmunks, guinea pigs and birds. We even got to touch some of them.

After this we were allowed to feed the fish, they were very big and hungry.

Next it was time to play on the tractors, it was lots of fun.

After the tractors we went to meet the bigger animals. We met Starlight the 'Unicorn', Gilbert the goat and Bambi the deer. We loved feeding them.

Then it was time for a delicious lunch.

After lunch we got to play in the amazing fort. We loved the giant sandpit.

Then it was time to be brave and visit the amazing Dinosaur enclosure.

Our final activity was hunting for fossils and gems in the sand.

We really enjoyed our day at Fort Evergreen.
