Last Thursday 18th Jan we welcomed Elaine, the ASDA Community Development Officer into St Mary's to deliver a fun workshop on 'Our Community' to the P3/4 children. The project is part of the Young Enterprise Programme and introduces the children to the importance of developing services within our own area.
The children spent the morning planning their own little town, using public and private services to cater for the houses they had so cleverly placed in the residential areas. Following a short survey for suggestions that could lead to future development, the front runner in the children's eyes was indeed a Pet Shop!
Well done boys and girls on a great mornings work! You never know this could be the start of a new career for some of these kids in the local planning office - watch this space!
