Malachy Mc Geeney Cup final
Today was a big day in the sporting calendar for St Mary’s Primary school. Having qualified for the final at the qualifying blitz in Ballymacnab, the school was buzzing in anticipation of the possibility of capturing the Malachy Mc Geeney Cup for the third time in as many years. St Patrick’s Aghagallon had also qualified and the enormity of the task was clear.
Last minute instructions were issued and the motivational talk was over. It was over to the kids: Boy did they deliver. They fought hard for every ball, chased lost causes and took their chances when they had them. The first half was a blur, water on board, they went out and did it all over again. Champions one and all, three time champions they became.
A proud day for the kids, parents, staff and the wider community. Well done boys and girls!
