The children in P1-3 spent the past week exploring the Nursery Rhyme Jack and Jill.
They read a few different stories with a different take on the traditional rhyme.
During one particular story Jack and Jill decided to leave their hill and explore the world. The children enjoyed exploring the world with them and loved learning about different flags from around the world. They also discussed different landmarks, clothes, and weather from each country.
The children from Primary 1 filled Jack and Jill’s coloured buckets with groups of rhyming words.
The whole class had great fun completing an experiment with a bucket and ‘well’. Their task was to see which group could fill their bucket the fastest. The children began with predicting how long they thought it would take. They then timed and recorded each other. After the children had completed the experiment, they then used their data to create a simple chart to show how long each group took.
The children had such a great week exploring many different areas of learning.
