Humpty Dumpty Had an 'Eggciting' day in P1,2,3
The children in P1-3 have had a great day exploring eggs, this coincided with our topic Time to Rhyme with this week’s focus being Humpty Dumpty.
The children began the morning by boiling their own eggs which they then enjoyed with some toast for their snack. Miss Robinson was delighted to be invited into the class to share some eggs and toast that the children had prepared for her.
After snack the children then created a set of instructions about how a boiled egg is made.
Following this the children then created a class pictogram and bar chart to show how many children in the class enjoyed eating their boiled egg. They were delighted that the majority of children did enjoy eating their egg.
After lunch it was time for an experiment. The children choose 6 materials to protect 'Humpty Dumpty' when he fell. The material chosen were flour, rice, shredded paper , cotton wool, tin foil, and feathers. They then predicted which material would protect Humpty from cracking. There were squeals of delight each time Humpty fell of the wall. Only two of the materials chosen protected Humpty from cracking. These were rice and cotton wool.
The children had such a great day exploring many different areas of learning.
