Freezing Investigation
20th Jan 2023
Our theme for the Spring term is 'Weather Watchers', in P4 and P5. This week the children investigated what would happen to water, with and without salt in it, when it was left outside in freezing conditions.
Some predicted that salt water would freeze quicker than non-salt water, others predicted that non-salt water would freeze quicker.
After a -5c night the children arrived at school to find half the bowls of water were frozen solid, while half were still water with small amounts of ice in them.
Can you guess which was which? Ask any of the P4 or P5 children to find out.
