Football Frenzy as Gaelic Blitzes Take Over!
As well as our more experienced footballers many of our young players, who attend the after school football, have been getting plenty of game time and lots of practice as they put on fabulous displays of their brilliant Gaelic skills.
The school team, who travelled to The Mid Ulster Arena in Cookstown last Tuesday, were narrowly beaten in their first ever St Patrick's Academy Small School's Final in a very competitive, well fought battle with defending champions, St Patrick's PS., Roan, Eglish. The team put up a brave fight and the fact that they reached this final was in itself a great achievement. Well done kids!
Our Cumann na mBunscol Group Blitzes are well and truly underway! We have over the last number of weeks hosted our own blitz here in Maghery and attended blitzes in both Collegeland and Tír na nÓg. Congratulations to the following players who were chosen as 'Player of the Tournament' in our group blitzes in each of the given venues.
